As an industry expert in background screening, Bishops Services, a Sterling Talent Solutions company, is constantly keeping pace with on-going certifications to address the needs of our clients. Because of that commitment, we would like to congratulate Chelsey Franks, Vice President - Investigations, on successfully meeting the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) character, experience and education requirements for the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential. In order to become a CFE, Chelsey has met a stringent set of criteria and passed a rigorous exam administered by the ACFE. She has demonstrated knowledge in four areas critical to the fight against fraud: Fraudulent Financial Transactions, Fraud Prevention and Deterrence, Legal Element of Fraud, and Fraud Investigation.
CFEs have the ability to examine data and records to detect and trace fraudulent transactions; interview suspects to obtain information and confessions; write investigation reports; advise clients as to their findings; testify at trial; understand the law as it relates to fraud and fraud investigations; and identify the underlying factors that motivate individuals to commit fraud. CFEs on six continents have investigated more than 1 million suspected cases of civil and criminal fraud. CFEs must adhere to a strict code of professional conduct and ethics. In order to be compliant under the ACFE rules, CFEs must have 20 hours of continuing education to stay current on any professional updates.
The ACFE is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education. With nearly 80,000 members, the ACFE is reducing business fraud worldwide and inspiring public confidence in the integrity and objectivity within the profession. The ACFE’s mission is to reduce the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime and to assist the membership in fraud detection and deterrence. The ACFE was founded in 1988 by fraud expert and author, Dr. Joseph T. Wells, CFE, CPA, and is currently based in Austin, Texas.
Here at Bishops Services, we pride ourselves on team members, like Chelsey, and the exceptional work they do in representing the Sterling family group of companies and in supporting our clients. Bishops Services is a proud sponsor of our employees in their continuing education in the field of investigations, by increasing the competence and effectiveness of our investigators globally.
